Routing: Riders will be placed on a bus route based on primary/secondary parent/guardian home address or Daycares in Yelm that fall within the school boundary.

Register to Ride: If your child didn't ride the bus last year, you are new to the district, or you need an alternate drop-off for daycare, be sure to complete the Register to Ride Form. Visit our Daycares in Yelm website to be sure your daycare is in the transportation area of your school.

Bus Stop Consolidation: Some stops will be consolidated to reduce lengthy bus rides and ensure safe travel. Check Family Access or Ride K12 on or after September 4.

Route Modifications After School Begins: Routes and pickup/drop-off times will be adjusted during the first few weeks of school. Please continue to monitor route times.

Change of Address: If you have a change of address, please contact your student's school to verify the new address. This will prompt transportation to update the route.

Student Rider Cards: We are asking ALL students to SWIPE their card when getting on and off the bus. This is a safety practice allowing us and families to know where each student is. In addition, it helps us monitor the number of students on each bus to balance ridership. New cards will be distributed on the first day of school. If it is lost or needs to be replaced, schools can make a new card for $5.

Bus Passes: Due to limited seating, we will not be able to accommodate bus passes for students going home with friends. Again, we are focused on seating for those students requiring transportation

• We will be offering an alternative to the Open House. On the first day of school, parents are welcome to walk their student(s) to the classroom and drop off school supplies from 8:25 a.m. to 8:55 a.m. Please be aware that there is limited parking at McKenna.
• Please log in to Skyward on or after Sept 4 to find out who your student's teacher will be.Teacher/Advisor information is under Scheduling. If you need assistance logging in to Family Access, please click "Forgot your Username or Password."
• Students who ride the bus to school & are unable to carry their supplies with them: parents may drop off school supplies to the office starting the week of August 31, 8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Please label the bags with your student's first and last name.
• Please note the start dates for the school year:
• On the first day of school, staff will assist students in locating their classrooms, if needed.
• Student drop-off starts at 8:20 a.m.& 9:20 a.m. on late-start Wednesdays.
